Barbara Mazurowski, manager of the Department of Energy's Rocky Flats Field Office, will move to Washington, D.C., sometime this year as a result of a department-wide management shakeup.

An energy department news release said the reassignment of Mazurowski and 27 other managers would "strengthen, streamline, and delayer the leadership of the program."

Mazurowski will become the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary of Environmental Management in Washington. She will be replaced at Rocky Flats by Eugene Schmitt, now Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Policy, Planning and Budget.

Before coming to Rocky Flats in early 2000, Mazurowski directed cleanup activities at the Energy Departments West Valley Demonstration Project in New York.
